Victoria Romero


VICTORIA L. ROMERO, Ph.D.

Victoria Romero holds a Ph.D. in Applied Cognitive Psychology and is a consultant for Kohn Communications. Some of Dr. Romero’s research has focused on how inaccurate thought processes can be corrected to enhance learning and performance in adults. As a consultant, Dr. Romero applies research on thinking and learning to help her clients overcome psychological obstacles to professional development. She has been a consultant for Neurosmith Toys, a Research Associate for the Web Interface for Statistics Education, and the Acting Director of the Claremont Infant Study Center at Pitzer College. Dr. Romero is also an experienced college professor; she is currently on special appointment as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychology at Occidental College, in Los Angeles.

EDUCATION

- Dr. Romero received her B.A. in Psychology with Highest Honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara

- Dr. Romero received her M.A. and Ph.D. in Applied Cognitive Psychology from the Claremont Graduate University, a member of the Claremont Colleges consortium.

TEACHING AND PUBLIC SPEAKING

Dr. Romero has taught more than 50 courses in Psychology and Educational Psychology at California State University, Long Beach, Claremont McKenna College, and Occidental College.  She has taught courses in Cognitive Psychology, Perception, Child Development, Cognitive Development, Research Methodology, Critical Thinking, and the Science of Happiness.

Dr. Romero has presented the results of her research on applied cognition and infant development at numerous professional meetings including:
