melissa-headshotMelissa Udell is a marketing and management consultant for Kohn Communications. She has helped her clients develop strategic marketing plans in addition to coaching in the areas of time-management and organizational skills. Melissa also uses her education and training as a clinical psychologist to assist corporate clients in the workplace to resolve interpersonal conflicts and dysfunctional dynamics. She helps clients develop functional communication and interpersonal skills. Those skills, in turn, increase the clients’ productivity and job satisfaction at all levels of the organizational hierarchy.

In addition to her work as a consultant for Kohn Communications, Melissa has a private practice in Pasadena and is an adjunct professor at Alliant International University in Alhambra.

Education

  • Dr. Udell received her B.S. from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo where she majored in Psychology with an emphasis in counseling and family psychology.
  • Dr. Udell received both her M.A. as well as her Ph.D. from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. Her concentration was in individual, family and child psychology.

Experience, Awards and Interests

  • Worked as a legal assistant for the Los Angeles County Department of Children’s Services where she assisted attorneys in case preparation in dependency court matters and also acted as a pseudo-witness for training of newly hired attorneys.
  • Recipient of the Maude E. Nelson Memorial Award from the Scholarship Foundation of La Canada Flintridge
  • Member of Psi Chi National Honor Society in Psychology
  • Dean’s List, California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo
  • Trained in classical ballet; attended Joffrey Ballet School summer program in 1995, instructor at the Classical Ballet Academy in Altadena, California
  • Alumni of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority
